How It All Started
Salty’s Golf Shop didn’t start in a boardroom or with a business plan—it started on a driving range with one simple act of kindness.
A few years ago, I was working part-time at a local range when a man named Davie approached me. He told me he hadn’t played golf in over 20 years. Born in Scotland, he grew up loving the game, but life took him to New York City, and golf slowly slipped away. Now, having moved upstate, he wanted to find his way back.
He asked if I could help him relearn the game.
I didn’t charge him a dime.
We worked on his swing, found him some clubs, and eventually played his first round together in two decades. That day turned into many more—dozens of rounds, conversations, and laughs. Davie didn’t just become a golfer again—he became one of my closest friends.
That experience lit a spark.
I realized golf can be more than a sport. It can be a lifeline, a friendship-builder, a second chance. But too often, the game feels closed off—expensive, intimidating, and exclusive to a certain crowd. I wanted to change that.
So I started Salty’s Golf Shop.
Not just a brand, but a mission: to grow the game, open doors, and give more people a way in—especially junior golfers who might not have the means, but have all the passion in the world.
Every piece we sell helps fund that mission—whether it’s through donated gear, covering green fees, or supporting local youth programs. It’s golf with purpose. Golf with soul.
